Appreciate Nature, No Matter Where You Are

Something I missed last year, was getting out and exploring different locations. Until last weekend, I hadn’t realised how being confined firstly to 3kms, then 5kms for many months and finally 20km radiuses during our lockdowns had restricted the different places I could explore.

Last Saturday, I had a lovely day up in the Dandenong Ranges, starting off with lunch at the Tree of Life in Belgrave – lots of yummy German food is on the menu. Followed by going for a walk, along Coles track at Grants picnic ground, finishing up at Skyhigh lookout. It was so therapeutic to be up in the hills, listening to only the sounds of nature around us, and breathing in the fresh air. The sun shone kindly on us. This is exactly what I needed to help me unwind from work, and leave work behind me

Thank you to a wonderful friend for showing me the sights, who I met for the first time in June, at a Deutsche im Melbourne group breakfast, just a couple of weeks before we went into our 2nd hard lockdown.

If you look carefully, you can just make out the Melbourne skyline amongst the haze in the background

I had a wonderful day with great company, who was very much the gentleman when I got engrossed in my thoughts and got off the train a couple of stops from where we had arranged to meet. I don’t think you will ever let me down.

    1. Thank you @thegriefreality for such kind words. The Dandenong Ranges is so beautiful at anytime, but I love it at this time of the year with the autumnal changes in colour to the trees. Makes me feel as much as possible that I’m back in Europe 🙂
