🌸 Celebrating Love and Connection 🌸

On Friday, I had the joy of attending my niece’s wedding—a day filled with love, laughter, and hope for the future.

Watching her and her partner start this new chapter reminded me of how important it is to cherish the relationships that ground us, both personally and professionally.

In our busy lives, whether it’s career transitions, building a business, or helping others achieve their goals, it’s easy to overlook the power of moments like these. Yet, they teach us so much about connection, celebration, and growth.

☎️ I loved how they had set up the “Leave a Message” sign and option to record a message through the ‘dial up telephone’ device.

It made me think about how much joy can come from sending someone a message who you haven’t for example been in contact with for a while, and how it can help to build bridges for mending relationships etc

Do Career Development Practitioners (Coach) ever truly take their hats off? 😃

It was so interesting catching up and listening to people’s career stories and the pivots, challenges and achievements they have experienced along the way, especially a couple of them who I have known since they were little and they now are in their 30s and 40s.

And here’s a fun twist: I spent much of the evening dancing and reminiscing with the person I once called my knight in shining armour back in 1990!!

When my date for my high school farewell dinner/formal couldn’t make it last minute, my niece’s uncle who is a couple of years older than me (on her dad’s side) stepped in, rented a tuxedo, and became my hero for the night!

Amazingly, my niece didn’t know this story until now. We always got on so well in the past. Revisiting that memory brought so much laughter and gratitude for how life intertwines us in surprising ways and where our own career opportunities and life have taken us both. It is great to have reconnected with them, just like it was only yesterday when we last saw each other instead of 10+ years ago

💡 Reflection: Weddings and similar milestones are more than just events—they’re reminders to embrace change/transitions, build strong foundations, and celebrate the wins along the way.
