Yesterday was one of those perfect Melbourne days, filled with adventure, reflection, and laughter.

I spent the morning having breakfast with friends in the city, exploring together the MindBodySpirit Festival, the afternoon soaking in nature at Altona Beach, and the evening sharing stories over dinner with friends. The day became a beautiful reminder of this month’s Action for Happiness theme: Joyful June.
🎠Expanding Horizons at the MindBodySpirit Festival

The festival was a kaleidoscope of inspiration, from mindfulness workshops to vibrant artisan stalls. I had my aura photographed (who could resist?), and picked up some treasures: a ring, a necklace, a set of positive affirmation cards, and my new favourite item—a fabulous hat.

Let’s just say it gives my traffic cone hat some serious competition!
As a Career Development Practitioner, I couldn’t help but marvel at the incredible diversity of career paths represented at the festival. Every stallholder had a unique story—a testament to the power of passion, creativity, and resilience in forging meaningful careers. It reinforced the importance of holding space for clients to explore their own potential without judgment or limitation.

🌳 Finding Joy in Nature
After the festival, I headed to one of my favourite places – Altona Beach and its nearby park for some quiet reflection. I pulled out my new card deck—designed to help uncover what brings joy—and found myself immersed in the simplicity of the moment.

Some of the affirmations I drew felt deeply resonant:
đź’š I take time in nature to nourish my spirit
đź’š Meaningful connections enrich my life
đź’š I make time for fun

The breeze, the laughter of children playing nearby, and even the tempting climbing trees whispered one thing: joy is everywhere if you look for it.
🍽️ Dinner and Laughter
The day ended with dinner surrounded by more friends. We laughed until our sides hurt, swapped stories, and shared dreams for the future. It reminded me that joy often comes from these simple moments of connection.

✨ Joyful June Reflections
This day aligned perfectly with Joyful June’s prompts:
Day 5: Get out in nature. Check!
Day 6: Share a happy memory or inspiring thought. Dinner conversations were filled with them.
Day 7: Take a photo of something that brings you joy. That hat is definitely worth a snapshot!

đź’ Thoughts to Ponder
When did you last let nature, connection, and creativity bring you joy?
What simple things remind you that life is good, even amidst challenges?
🌟 Final Reflection
I feel deeply grateful for yesterday—not just for the experiences but for the realization that joy is a choice. Whether it’s trying on a new hat, walking by the beach, or simply laughing with friends, joy is something we can cultivate.
Here’s to finding moments of joy, wherever you are. 💚
