There’s something grounding about watching the sunrise, that quiet reminder that even after the darkest night, light finds its way back.
When I lived in Woy Woy, my mornings began with a gentle walk along the waterfront, the sky slowly painted in shades of gold and soft pink. The stillness of the boats, the rippling water, and the hum of the day beginning made those walks feel almost meditative. I’d catch the train into Sydney, passing the stunning Hawkesbury River, one of those commutes that makes you pause and think “how lucky am I?”
Life felt simpler then. Bonkers at times, yes, but simple in its rhythms and joys. Beaches just a short ride away, small-town quirks, and the feeling that time moved a little slower.

The image above reminds me of those days and of how easy it is to let today’s disappointments cloud the view of what could be waiting just beyond the horizon. “Don’t let today’s disappointment cast a shadow on tomorrow’s dream.”
It’s a quote I’ve often returned to, especially when things don’t go to plan. The truth is, each sunrise gives us another chance to begin again, to see things differently, to hope a little more bravely.

Wherever you are right now, I hope you find a moment of stillness today, a reminder that even if the tide feels low, the light always returns.

💚 Here’s to tomorrow’s dreams and to the places and moments that remind us who we are becoming.
