This morning I received confirmation that I’ve completed my Advanced Practitioner recertification in Hope-Action Theory & Practice.

I deliberately chose to complete the recertification over the New Year period, giving myself something steady and purposeful to focus on during post-surgery recovery. Having that structure and intention during a time of healing mattered more than I expected.
Five years on from first completing the advanced training, this recertification felt less about proving anything, and more about re-entering the work with clarity and intent.
It created space to step back, notice how my practice has evolved, and consciously recommit to the way I now work with complexity, uncertainty, identity shifts, and change.
What continues to anchor my approach is Hope-Action Theory’s emphasis on purposeful action without urgency — supporting people to move forward without bypassing reflection, meaning-making, or context.
Hope-Action Theory and creative engagement strategies remain foundation stones in my work as a clarity-focused practitioner. I’m curious to see how these continue to evolve over the next five years, alongside the people and organisations I work with.
At the heart of my practice is supporting people and organisations to get unstuck by building sustainable foundations through curiosity, stretch-the-box thinking, and challenge-led approaches to work and life.
Over time, my work has expanded beyond what people traditionally think of as “career coaching.” It now sits in a broader space focused on clarity, adaptability, and action-oriented hope — supporting people and teams to spark ideas and move forward in ways that are both meaningful and sustainable.
I’m deeply grateful to Norm Amundson and Andrea Frühling for sharing their knowledge and skills so generously throughout the recertification modules, and for the thoughtful feedback on my case study. I very much appreciate it.
This recertification marks a quiet but important moment of professional renewal — a steady step back into the ring after an extended period of focusing on my health. Grounded, evidence-informed, and steady in my approach to what I do.
