What happens when curiosity, a craving for roast dinner meets a little pantry improvisation? Apparently… a Yorkshire pudding boat.
Frugal Pantry Cooking
Oopsie, I kind of unintentionally made a Yorkshire pudding boat – big enough to sail away in 🙈🙈

I’d been wanting to try a roast dinner inside a Yorkshire pudding for ages, and I had a craving for a roast, so I thought I’d give it a go, using whatever ingredients I had in my pantry and fridge.
Waste not, want not and no specific measurements – just cooking by heart …. there was definetely plenty of leftovers for another meal or two 😂😂😂
Still the dinner was delicious. Poached chicken breast marinated in a sparkling rosé, caraway seeds, green beans and sultanas. Served with maple glazed roast vegetables and a drizzle of chicken gravy 😋

Next time I might need a slightly smaller baking dish… unless I’m planning to sail away in my Yorkshire pudding boat.
It’s funny how a simple moment in the kitchen can reflect something bigger — curiosity, a willingness to experiment, and making the best of what we have.
My “Yorkshire Pudding Boat” is proof that sometimes the best results come from curiosity, a willingness to improvise, and cooking a little outside the box… or in this case, inside a Yorkshire pudding boat.
