🌼 After the Rain

This afternoon, as I was walking home from work, the rain finally began to ease. The air still held that fresh, earthy scent that only follows a good downpour – grounding and alive.

Just as I rounded a corner, I noticed a single yellow rose, its petals heavy with raindrops that shimmered like tiny glass beads. I paused for a moment, drawn in by its quiet brilliance. The fragrance was divine – soft yet vivid – and in that instant, I felt my spirits lift.

Yellow roses have always been my favourite. There’s something about their colour that speaks of warmth, hope, and friendship. Even on a grey afternoon, they seem to carry their own sunlight.

I stood there for a while, watching the droplets slide down the petals, feeling oddly grateful — for the rain that refreshed the earth, for the rose that bloomed despite it, and for the reminder that small moments of beauty can shift an entire day.

Sometimes, it’s not the grand gestures or major milestones that bring us back to ourselves. It’s a single flower on a damp afternoon — quietly reminding us that joy often hides in the simplest of places.
