My previous career background was in teaching ranging from Primary School through to Adult Learners over the space of 20+ years in Australia, the United Kingdom, and Germany. My passion is working and empathising with people to empower them in particular as they navigate successful career transitions.
As a former Military spouse, I faced the challenges of adapting to life in a military environment, away from my family and country where I grew up. Giving up my teaching career to support my former husbands’ postings, meant that I experienced a sense of loss of identity, and struggled for awhile with how to describe skills and knowledge from my teaching career as transferrable for other career pathways.
I also changed jobs on a regular basis and career pathways including living and working for the British Forces in Germany for 3 years, in roles as varied as office administration, e-Learning, career coaching and adult literacy coaching, as I supported my former husbands’ career and subsequent struggles during his transition to civilian life and relocation back to Australia. In recent years I have experienced redundancy, and the emotions / issues this can entail.
All of these experiences and skills, I bring to my role as an experienced Career Development Practitioner, in particular in, providing holistic mindfulness/wellbeing, career exploration, for career changers. Including support for those who are going through career crisis’, facing redundancy, empty nesters, retirees, military spouses and military transition career coaching in 1:1 and group coaching sessions. I am also experienced developing and delivering group presentations and workshops relating to career exploration and wellbeing.
I utilise the knowledge, experiences and emotions of living in 3 different countries and working across a variety of industries and careers to empathise and enhance my delivery of career coaching.
