Rediscovering Bliss: City Exploration for Recharging Your Batteries

What a wonderful way to recharge my self-care batteries!

Friday’s 11.4km refreshing  “aimless” walk wandering around Köln (Cologne), Germany did this for me.

I love turning around corners and discovering street art and beautiful images. At the tourist centre  yesterday, they gave me a map of street art….. I’m looking forward to following the map one day soon.

After the storm the night before, I was so glad I packed my hiking boots, as on my way to the Banksy exhibition, google maps led me unknowingly through a beautiful tranquil cemetery, with some big puddles to navigate.

I love the fresh smell of woods/nature after it rains, and you can hear the birds singing. Somehow the colours of the leaves seem more crisp

I was so glad to discover that the Banksy exhibition was extended and within walking distance from where I am.

I found out about the exhibition on one of my trips to Köln late last year, but was unable to see it then

All of the pieces resonated with me, but I was particularly drawn to Monet’s waterlily garden clogged up with dumped shopping trolleys and other rubbish ….. really puts the need to look after our environment into perspective

Gnome happy dancing at the Hauptbahnhof, when I discovered Köln stadt washi tape with images of the Dom on them…. just had to get one of each colour…. crafting/journalling ideas have been sparked 🥳💡

I saw a couple who had just gotten married going past in a bike cart. Cans dragging behind with ABBA’s SOS playing out loud! ….

Gosh I love Köln

Had a wonderful catchup with a fellow Australian based in Cologne who I met on Christmas day last year. It was great chatting with him about what has been happening since Christmas.

Good company, and far too many cocktails – London Mules, Tornadoes & Hurricanes. It was a great way to wind down the day

Followed by a gentle walk back home to stretch my legs and watch city skyline at night
