‘Optimistic October’ – Action for Happiness Orgs calendar is based on the theme of ‘Direction: Have goals to look forward to’
Optimism is the belief that things will turn out well, something that people may at present struggle with considering what we are currently going through globally
As a career practitioner ‘Hope Action Theory’ (HAT) really resonates with me, as within hope, there is action that is connected to goal driven behaviour that we engage in. If a client doesn’t have a sense of hope, how can we expect them to engage in career development?
I.e. Hope is essential for the career development process
This is where HAT with it’s recognition of self-reflection & self-clarity being crucial in seeing the bigger picture of goal setting is so beneficial
Optimistic Octobers focused actions involve:
* Set your goals & make them happen
* Find your true purpose
* Figure out what’s important to you
* Be positive but stay realistic
* Write down your dreams for the future
